 No new odds but a bunch of I’ll bets.
An article posted this week on Gambling911 says that no one is betting on Idol this year. Could it be that Crystal is such a lock it’s not worth it or is America just losing interest? I would say that it is the unbelievably weird results this season that has the bettors running for cover. But I still think there is a big shock in the works. Normally I would say Crystal should win and that makes it a foregone conclusion. But since the ratings numbers are waning, they probably need to do something to spice it up. Giving Crystal the early boot would do it. I say it doesn’t matter if she wins or not she is recording with 19E even if she leaves on Wednesday. So don’t be too surprised if that happens. The old Daughtry spot.
Also over the week I have read multiple stories talking specifically about the ratings drop-off after Siobhan left. They range from 2.1 million to 2.7 million. This is not insignificant and that fact will not be wasted on Idol. I didn’t think there was any chance 19E would sign her leaving 6th, but with these kinds of numbers it may be worth their while. The internet buzz about her after she left was enormous as well. Even now if you Google Siobhan there are more articles written about her than any other Idol. In my article before this “We think we knew Siobhan Magnus…No so fast”, Entertainment Weekly had the longest interview by far with Siobhan than any other Idol ever and it’s not even close. Siobhan gets called back because of the voting scandal. A guy can dream can’t he? Dreamy miss.
On a night where all should do well only Mike does. Very close.
Crystal lays down the guitar again and wears a slinky dress. Big time hit
Casey lays down the guitar for the first time and wears a slinky dress. Wouldn’t that be a hoot? Hit about
the guitar. I really wanted the dress though.
Aaron is totally lost and gets even more votes. Very big miss.
Lee does pretty well. In fact I think he and Mike will do the best. This is arguable but if the judges looked at this they would give me a bit ol’ hit.
Siobhan will not be in the audience with Didi and Lacey this week. Big ol’ hit
Mike does go home this week after giving what might be his best of the series. Half hit.
This week’s I’ll bets:
Songs of the cinema gives us the best night of the season.
Casey brings out the electric guitar.
Crystal wins the night.
Mike picks something from “The Wiz”
Lee sings “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”
The duets will be Lee and Crystal and Casey and Mike. I don’t know how that Casey /Mike thing will go.
Casey will go home this week. And he damn sure can’t complain.
My two favorite nights of the season and my favorite singer is not here to do them. Or is she? I heard what Siobhan was going to sing for this night as well….. “Summertime”. Catch her singing it here on Wendy Williams. "Summertime" This was at the end of her 3 day press madness tour. You can tell her voice is about to give out but you can also hear a sample of Tuesday’s winning performance. You never know she might just show up any sing anyway. Make sure your DVR’s catch her this time.
