IdolHeadEd writes Every week I wait for Entertainment weekly’s video diary “Idolatry” of that past week’s shows and booted of Idols. This week was Siobhan. It is the most insightful ever.
Anyone who reads Idolhead Ed knows every year who my favorite contestants are. Some years I am more into it than usual. This season I was more into one contestant that the show itself. Oddly enough this year is the most convoluted of all the previous seasons. Many think it’s the worst season ever. I don’t. I think the talent ranks right up there with some of the best. But there seems to be a disconnect in the show this year like no other. I think that’s why everyone thinks it’s the worst. I, like everyone else, try to pick a favorite early. Why? It’s human nature and it makes the season worth watching. We all who watch the show have to depend on Idol to give us a good idea who these contestants are as a person. We can determine a few weeks in what kind of singer they are so it is up to Idol to let us into their person. I remember when I met Kat McPhee for the first time she was nothing like she was portrayed on Idol. She was a delightful soul. Very congenial and not the self absorbed person most thought her to be judging from what Idol portrayed. The same thing with Allison from last year. Now I can say, and after you watch it, you will to realize that the girl we saw in Idol is not the girl she was. She is not a slow dim witted person at all. Here is the link. Siobhan on Idolatry This is for all you haters especially but a real treat for you, who like me, love her. Please leave a comment on the video (Comment box is right below the video) to show your support. I will also say this is the longest Idolatry interview ever. And it could have been longer and I would have been happier. Also let me know how you like it. Here's another one you might be interested in seeing. MTV newsroom interview with Siobhan
One side note I know you will be interested in. Last Tuesday's Idol was the lowest rated in the series's history. The viewing audience was dow almost 3 million to 17 million. I guess there were more Siobhan fans than the the vote totals told. I suspect the absence of Aaron will not skew the numbers at all. The Aaron voters watch no matter what. Just thought you'd like to know. Is it Tuesday yet? Idolhead Ed idolheaded@yahoo.com
