American Idol: Who’s singing “Song Sung Blue”?

American Idol IdolHeadEd writes
They couldn’t figure out how to squeeze an hour and a half program into one hour last night but they sure figured out how to squeeze 2 minutes into one hour.

Normally I wouldn’t comment on the group song even though I always like them. The reason I am commenting tonight is I was shocked when Jason started it off…..and sounded ……great. Why does he not sing like that when he sings in competition? No note cheating no breathy singing. This is singing. I had heard some hints of this but not this. He sings like that next week and I’ll be on the Jason bandwagon. Better late than never I guess.

And to start off the eliminations Jason is safe. And of course David A. is safe. And of course so is David. So that leaves the girls. And Dialidol had Syesha as the top vote getter. I think this is the first time ever that someone on top of their voting block has been in the bottom 2. So it’s just for fun like Jim (Dialidol owner) says.

So who goes home? I for sure think its Brooke but since I am for the first time ever writing this to a live show I will have to wait through a bunch of million dollar commercials and a few songs to find out.

Heil sings one of the songs from his new CD “Pretty Amazing Grace”. He sounded great. He doesn’t have all the moves he used to but the voice is till there. The girlfriend I had before my wife treated me to a Neil Diamond concert in 1987 at the no longer there Omni, and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw. Great!

Back to the results. Syesha is safe and Brooke is gone. And I’ll have to say, this was easily the most emotional elimination ever. It eclipses Alaina’s back in the top 24. I felt sorry for her but I know a couple of girls who are glad. You might know them.

I can’t disagree with this elimination. In fact it should have happened 2 weeks ago. Will Brooke be successful outside Idol? Who knows.

Is it Tuesday yet?

Congratulations Ed.  Your rant last week got rid of her.  I am impressed.  Now if you could only get rid of David A and Syesha we would be set.

I too was amazed that Syesha was left standing with Brooke since DialIdol had her as #1 - BUT.... did you notice, Ryan NEVER said "this is your bottom two" - he simply said that of the two of them, one would be safe, and one would be going home.  He also never asked the judges if "america got it right" with the 'bottom two'.  Bottom two was never mentioned.

I think it was a way for them to screw with the viewers, especially the ones who check out DialIdol - also, maybe for whatever reason they wanted to give America the impression that Syesha was in the bottom again, even though she wasn't.

David C's fans must be happy. Paula dubbed him as the "American Idol" last night. So he's the front runner now, not David A anymore. With that, I hope all the trashings of David A would be less, cause i am sick of that up to this point. I like both David C and A, but I just feel bad for the kid to have all the unfair trashings on the web, most likely by the David C's fans. I agree David A can be a little boring and I see your points, but he is to be honest still very talented, and for sure not deserved all the trashings going on. However, now it seems like David A is the underdog, we'll see if David C is up for the hype from his fans.

I read some fans on an Idol blog saying that Ryan never actually said that Syesha was in the bottom two.  He just said that one of the girls was safe, and one was going home.  Apparently (though I can't vouch for this), he never actally said the words "bottom two" when referring to Brooke and Syesha.  Maybe this is just Idol fans over analyzing, but it is possible that Syesha was not the second lowest vote-getter, and the Idol "powers that be" pulled the wool over our eyes.  What do you think??
